Every year, countless women around the world disappear in human trafficking and forced prostitution - regardless of how rich or poor a country is.
There are 10,000 women in India alone. That's 27 women a day - and the number of unreported cases is significantly higher.
To set a visible sign of solidarity against this, 27 female influencers were offline on Instagram for 24 hours under the motto "Make the invisible visible" and made their profile pictures invisible. Through 24 hours of radio silence in our daily flood of posts and stories, deliberately creating attention to make the global problem of human trafficking and forced prostitution visible. And, together with [eyd] clothing, to give affected women new perspectives and a life of freedom.
In our awareness week "Make the invisible visible" on human trafficking and forced prostitution, we had an extensive education and information programme on Instagram.
